About LoeerFitness
Kristin Loeer (BAHons), founder of LoeerFitness, has a
background in creative media and professional horse dressage. Dressage requires great core stability, balance, strength and most of all body awareness, which is essential to the way we teach fitness. Kristin's experience of working in the arts further influenced our fitness programmes to be fun, challenging and developmental workouts.
Kristin believes that a
good feeling for the alignment and relation of
shoulder and pelvic girdle, together with strong stabilising
muscles and a good range of movement is an important basis for any physical activity.
“As a society we
are so focused on achievement that we tend to work out in order to
bulge superficial, global muscles, because they make us look strong.
We exhaust ourselves at the gym because it makes us feel like we
challenged ourselves. We tend to forget the conditioning of important deeper muscles. We
can't see them as much, so we think we can just forget about them,
but well conditioned they will protect us from pain and injury. They
are what enables us to balance and coordinate movement. Think of a
contemporary dancer and their amazing effortless looking movements.
